Ohio 1, 2, 3, & 4 - 2024
Painted it to "Ohio" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Acrylic on Board
9” x 9” x 1.75”
In 1970 the National Guard opened fire on protesting students; four were killed and nine injured. The nation was shocked, and outrage was sparked. In response to the massacre, Ohio was written. The song underscores the violence and brutality of the government on its citizens and is a symbol of resistance.
We still live in a world of war, violence, and political corruption. We have leaders who suppress dissent and wield unchecked power.
When governments overstep their bounds and forget human values, art is needed to speak out and inspire us to take action. I must believe our voices have power and can be a catalyst for change.
